What is a Nesting Doula?

As a Nesting Doula, I help guide and prepare your family and your home for the transitions ahead. We optimize the health of the home environment, the function and flow of your systems, and the mental and emotional preparedness for the changes coming. The services offered as a Nesting Doula are Eco Nesting Party, Eco Maternity Registry, Eco Nesting the Nursery, and The Nesting Doula Complete Package.

When is the best time for the Eco Nesting services?
Ideally, preconception. Having the knowledge of toxin awareness and the habits that support a healthy home ecosystem will prove beneficial for your health and the health of your environments, wherever you are. 
Eco Nesting the Nursery services are specifically geared towards preparing the home AND growing family for the transitions ahead. Because of this timeline, we recommend anytime from preconception through 2nd trimester.

What is a Postpartum Doula?

Postpartum Doulas provide non-medical, evidence based support and information on things such as sleep, feeding/nursing, emotional and physical recovery, newborn care, bonding, and more.

When is the best time to hire a Postpartum Doula?
Ideally, you have hired a Postpartum Doula by 36 weeks of pregnancy. This ensures the postpartum doula has the availability for the needs you have. This also allows enough time for the Postpartum Doula to get familiar with you, your needs, and navigate your home and the space they’ll be supporting you in. The last few weeks of pregnancy tend to be busier with appointments, may require more rest, and have less capacity as you soak in the final days/weeks before baby’s arrival.
Do your Eco Nesting services include testing of contaminants?
I can coordinate water testing (city or well) for an extra fee.  The equipment and testing necessary for many  indoor pollutants can be cost prohibitive for those just looking to gain awareness of foundational preventative tips and learn how to optimize the health of their home environment.  
I do not specifically diagnose contaminants in the home, ie. Radon, Mold, Asbestos, Lead, etc.

What is a Nesting Party?
Similar to a Baby shower/sprinkle, but is meant to provide support in lieu of gifts. Support often looks like helping the family clean or organize the kitchen, prepare the nursery, folding and putting away baby clothes, prepping freezer meals, etc. The beauty of this service is that it is entirely customized to your family. Everything from task and supply lists, recipes and ingredients lists, and even an invitation template is customized to you. 
When is an ideal time to have a Nesting Party?
A Nesting Party is most ideal in the final trimester. Support Mama with the final to-do’s and tasks to feel prepared in the nest. The time of connection is really special as well, filling that emotional bucket with her friends will be more challenging in the coming weeks and months. 
What is an Eco Maternity Registry?
A service that helps you create a registry intentionally aligned with your values. It’s a great way to stay grounded as you begin to assess an area you may have little to no experience in. Are these ‘must-have’ things really must-have’s for you? We also help you think about what services and support you could Register for as most moms share that support is more needed than stuff. 
When is an ideal time to set up my registry?
Ideally, the end of the first trimester is a good time to get the ball rolling and get a registry set up. As we work together you’ll be editing throughout the rest of your pregnancy.  It also takes some time to assess what you really need, what you can get pre-loved, and what support will be the most helpful.
